About Lisa

Lisa was born in Dublin on the 28th of July, 1974. She began dancing at the age of three and has danced competitively, professionally and for fun since then. Among her early instructors were Billy Griffin and Inis Eagla, well known dance instructors in Ireland. She later studied under Marie Duffy, the world renowned Irish Dance Instructor who collaborated with Michael Flatley in "Lord of the Dance." Dolores Taaffe, well known as an instructor of competitive Irish Dancing was another long time instructor.

Lisa has won numerous competitions, titles and trophies on the way to becoming the world-class dancer she is today. She placed third in the championships for Great Britain as well as the British National Championship. She also placed eight in the World Irish Dancing Championship in the same year. In 1995, she was the champion of the De-Fassa, Dublin & Leinster competition, placed second in the All Ireland Solo competition and also in the Scottish Championship.

Lisa has danced professionally in Jury’s Cabaret and the Burlington Hotel program. She has danced in other shows throughout Ireland. She danced in 1996 for four weeks in the World Festival of Dancing in Branson, Missouri.

In March, 1997, Lisa toured (and danced the lead) in the United States with the RTE (Irish Radio) Concert Orchestra North American Tour for three weeks. During this tour she danced at Emory University and it was there that she fell in love with Atlanta. Lisa also is certified as a Qualified Fitness Instructor, but her first love is dance.
